The concept of Have & Hold is that these are cherished pieces, they should last you a life-time and hand-down to the next generation. There are a few simple ways to look after them.

Drawstring Bag

Natural dye is living colour, as it has come from nature. Over the years colours may slightly lighten, darken or evolve; it’s all part of its lifespan. And part of what makes natural dyes so interesting.

That said, all of the natural dyes I choose to use are high in tannins, with good colour-fastness. That means that any of these colour changes would be minimal.

Make sure you store your hat out of direct sunlight when you’re not wearing it. This will prevent reactive changes to the natural dye colour and keep colours bright.

Each hat comes with an organic cotton draw string bag. This is to store your hat in during the summer months. It will keep your hat protected and fresh.

After Care Roll

Naturally anti-bacterial, and odour resistant, you should hardly ever need to wash your hat or scarf. But if you do feel you need to wash it:

Hand wash cool with a pH neutral soap.

Squeeze out excess water (never wring woolens).

Lay flat on a towel, reshape and roll it to remove excess water.

Dry flat on a towel to keep its shape.

Pompom Bow

The Pom Pom hats all have a pompom which is attached to the hat with a very firmly tied double knot and double bow.

Pompoms do not like being washed, so if you need to wash your hat, you can untie it, and reattach it once your hat is dry.

Sustainability

All Have & Hold products are made with circular design in mind. If you do ever feel that your hat has come to the end of it’s life, it will completely break down in the ground within approximately 12 months, releasing only valuable nutrients back onto the soil.

Every hat has a story…and it continues with you.
